Arbolita Visual and Performing Arts Academy was proud to present “Lion King Jr.” The Lion King cast put on seven shows for sold out audiences of family, friends, other La Habra City School District students and staff. The original show was scheduled to open on March 13, 2020, the day we closed school buildings.
Some original cast members were in this year’s show and others joined us in the audience, which made it an extra special, memorable show. The cast began rehearsals two days a week afterschool in the beginning of October.
The dedication of the teachers, students, and families was evident in the final product. From Young Simba to Scar to the Rafikis, every cast member knew their lines, choreography, and wowed the audience with their stage presence.
Through the support of the district and our 2020 VAPA grant, we had a new projector, digital backgrounds, lighting, curtains, risers, lavalier microphones, and homemade masks and costumes, to name a few things! The students did not want the show to end, and it was an emotional closing night. We are excited for next year’s show!
