At Ladera Palma, we love recognizing our students' hard work, kindness, and leadership! This month, we’re excited to celebrate several students who are shining bright in their unique ways.
First, congratulations to our 6th-grade spelling bee champions, Rainen Kim and Leland Martin! After a rigorous selection process led by our dedicated teachers, Ms. Ocampo and Mrs. Arriaga Hernandez, these two outstanding students were chosen to represent Ladera Palma at the district spelling bee. Their hard work and determination are inspiring, and we loved watching them give their best as they competed against other 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the district.
Next, a special shoutout to Mateo Morones, who was recognized by one of our student supervisors for his kindness. According to Mrs. Sahagun, “Mateo shows a great deal of kindness and respect on a regular basis. Today, another student fell down, and Mateo helped him up and stayed by his side until the student was ready to stand up and walk.” Mateo’s compassion and empathy make him a wonderful example for his peers.
Lastly, we’re proud to celebrate three amazing students—Dusbin Caal Cuz, Mariana Mayhall, and Kaylee Serrato—who have earned 150 Dragoncitos through our PBIS program. Their consistent display of positive behavior has earned them the exciting opportunity to serve as principals for the day in February. We can’t wait to see the great ideas and leadership they’ll bring to the role!
At Ladera Palma, we are so proud of all our students for their achievements, character, and dedication to making our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
