Principal's Message

Welcome to Las Positas Elementary School.

Dear Las Positas School Community,

My name is Jackie Jenkins, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Las Positas Elementary School. Taking on this role is an honor, and I am excited to serve our wonderful families.

With 26 years as an educator, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for education. I firmly believe in the principles of the IB Primary Years Program, which emphasizes inquiry-based learning and the development of the whole child. I am committed to fostering an environment where our students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

At our school, we embrace the IB Learner Profile Attributes. The profile aims to develop learners who are: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. These attributes are integral to the learning experience and enrich our students' growth and development.

As we embark on this journey together, I am reminded of a quote by Albert Einstein, "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think." I look forward to working alongside each of you to inspire our students to think critically and creatively.
