Huff Pays Senate Floor Tribute to Water Guardians of Washington Middle School

SACRAMENTO: Senator Bob Huff (R-San Dimas) gave an eloquent tribute on the Senate Floor today by recognizing the effort of a select group of students from Washington Middle School in La Habra. Known as the "Water Guardians," these students worked collaboratively in developing a school-wide water conservation plan in an effort to win grants and scholarships.

Their ingenuity and desire for responsible water stewardship led this school to victory as the only middle school team from California to win the Land and Water category in the Lexus Eco Challenge.

"The Water Guardians of Washington Middle school used teamwork and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills to address local environmental issues," said Senator Huff during the Senate Floor presentation. "They focused their project on water conservation, seeking out various ways to reduce water use at their school."

The students traveled to Sacramento to receive the tribute and were presented with a Senate Resolution following Senator Huff's floor statement.
