La Habra City School District Press Release
California School Dashboard
The California School Dashboard is a new accountability system where parents can find easy to read reports on multiple measures of student success in school. In the past, accountability systems for districts and schools relied only on test scores. Now, the Dashboard provides multiple measures to get a complete picture of student success. Currently, the Dashboard includes information in three areas: 1) English Language Arts and Math test scores, 2) English Learner progress and 3) Suspension rates. The California School Dashboard is a work in progress and more information, such as attendance rates and school climate will be added in the future. The Dashboard provides the parents and community members of La Habra a picture of both the current status and improvements made in La Habra City School District. Continual improvement for all students in all areas is our goal. We look forward to working with our families and community to ensure success for every student.
You will see on the Dashboard that in LHCSD, we are continuing to make progress in both English Language Arts and Mathematics. Based on the Smarter Balanced Assessment given each spring, our overall English Language Arts scores increased 10.1 points and our Math scores increased 13.1 points between 2015 and 2016. Our English Learners maintained their progress on the California English Learner Development Test (CELDT) between 2014 and 2015.
We invite you to access the Dashboard yourself and take a closer look at the progress of all our schools and sub-groups of students. We hope this data will ignite a conversation between teachers, parents, community members and students to support improved learning for all.
