La Habra, CA – The La Habra City School District Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Dr. Suena L. Chang as the new Principal at our International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School, Las Positas Elementary School.
Dr. Chang began her career as an educator in 1999 in the Centinela Valley Union High School District as a chemistry and science teacher. Most recently, she served as the Principal of Lakeview Elementary School in the Placentia Yorba Linda School District and is currently an adjunct faculty member for Concordia University in Irvine.
Dr. Chang received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Master of Education from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Chang’s goal as the Principal of Las Positas School is to continue the success of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme together with her new team. She looks forward to building positive relationships with the students, families, and staff of Las Positas.
Dr. Chang’s first official day at Las Positas School will be July 1, 2021.
About the La Habra City School District: The La Habra City School District (LHCSD) is located in the Northwestern part of Orange County, California. The nine schools in LHCSD serve approximately 4,500 students. LHCSD has seven elementary schools for students in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade and two Middle Schools. In 2018, LHCSD completed a comprehensive reconfiguration of the school district. As a result, each school has an identified academic focus or magnet. Although the academic identity varies from school to school, each campus shares the same expectation for success, incorporating a variety of educational experiences, rigorous curriculum and instruction, and a focus on the whole child.
