We are excited to welcome our new and returning students to the 2021-22 school year, which starts on Monday, August 16 for all our TK-7th grade students. Our 8th grade students start their first day on Tuesday, August 17. As we begin the new year our priority continues to be the health and safety of our students, staff and families, while providing a rigorous academic program. We would like to share some important information on the COVID-19 Health and Safety requirements for the 2021-2022 school year. COVID-19 Health and Safety regulations are determined by the state and county health officials, and schools/school districts are required to follow these in order to provide in-person instruction.
Listed below are some of the key components of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements you will see at your child’s school as we start the school year:
Masks: All students and staff will be required to wear masks when indoors (classrooms, school offices, MPRs, libraries, cafeterias, etc.) in any school setting, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are optional outdoors for both students and staff.
Physical Distancing is NO LONGER Required: When students and staff are indoors in a school facility and are properly wearing masks, no physical distancing is required. With the universal indoor masking requirement, students will be returning to in-person instruction in the classroom.
Daily Temperature Checks: All students, staff, and campus visitors/volunteers will be required to conduct a self-check to monitor for symptoms every day prior to coming onto school campuses.
School Visitors: All visitors must check in at the front office. Masks must be worn in the school office by all adults, regardless of vaccination status, as children may be present in the office.
Daily Cleaning: All classrooms and common areas used by staff and students will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at least once daily. Deep cleaning and disinfecting will be used in the event of a positive COVID-19 case or an outbreak.
Students Sharing Items: Students will not be sharing their own personal desk items such as pencils, crayons, scissors, erasers, glue, markers, etc.
Busses: Students who ride the bus must properly wear a mask the entire time they are on the bus.
Volunteers: All volunteers will be required to complete an Attestation Form indicating they are fully vaccinated. While on campus, all volunteers must properly wear a mask (covering the nose and mouth) at all times.
Contact Tracing: If there is a positive COVID-19 case on any LHCSD school campus, designated staff will conduct Contact Tracing in conjunction with the Orange County Healthcare Agency (OCHA). Students or staff who have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis will be isolated and any students or staff who are close contacts to a positive COVID case will be quarantined. Please report all suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases immediately.
You can anticipate more information to be coming to you right after the start of the school year from your school regarding Back to School Night, Parent Meetings, and other school events. Estamos emocionados de dar la bienvenida a nuestros nuevos estudiantes y también que regresan al año escolar 2021-22, el cual comienza el lunes 16 de agosto para todos nuestros estudiantes de grado TK-7. Para nuestros estudiantes del 8o el primer día es martes 17 de agosto. Al comenzar el nuevo año nuestra prioridad continúa siendo la salud y seguridad de nuestros estudiantes. Personal y familias, mientras que proveemos un programa académico riguroso. Nos gustaría compartir alguna información importante sobre los requisitos de salud y seguridad de COVID-19 para el año escolar 2021-22.
A continuación les mostramos algunos de los componentes clave de los requisitos del Departamento de Salud Pública de California (CDPH) que verá en la escuela de su hijo/a al comenzar el año escolar:
Mascarillas: Todos los estudiantes y el personal deberán usar mascarillas cuando estén en el interior (salones de clase, oficinas escolares, MPR, biblioteca, cafetería, etc.) en cualquier lugar escolar, sin importar el estado de vacunación. Las mascarillas son opcionales al aire libre para los estudiantes y el personal.
El Distanciamiento Físico YA NO es requerido: Cuando los estudiantes y el personal están en el interior de una escuela y están usando mascarillas apropiadamente, no se requiere distanciamiento físico. Con el requisito universal de mascarillas, los estudiantes regresaran a la instrucción en persona en el salón de clase.
Revisión diaria de temperatura: Todos los estudiantes, el personal y los visitantes voluntarios deberán realizar una auto-verificación para monitorear los síntomas todos los días antes de llegar a las escuelas.
Los Visitantes a la escuela: Todos los visitantes deben registrarse en la oficina de recepción. Las máscararillas deben ser usadas en la oficina de la escuela por todos los adultos, independientemente del estado de vacunación, ya que los niños pueden estar presentes en la oficina.
Limpieza diaria: Todos los salones de clase y áreas comunes por donde el personal y los estudiantes caminan, estarán limpios y desinfectados por lo menos una vez al día. Si descubrimos un caso positivo de COVID-19 o de un brote, se utilizará una limpieza y desinfección profundas.
Estudiantes que comparten artículos escolares: Los estudiantes no compartirán sus propios artículos escolares personales, como lápices, crayones, tijeras, goma de borrar, pegamento, marcadores, etc.
Autobuses: Los estudiantes que viajan en el autobús deben usar su mascarilla correctamente todo el tiempo que están en el autobús.
Voluntarios: Pedimos que todos los voluntarios completen un formulario de declaración indicando que están completamente vacunados. Durante su estancia en la escuela, todos los voluntarios deben usar adecuadamente una mascarilla (que cubra la nariz y la boca) en todo momento.
Rastreo de Contagio: Si hay un caso de COVID-19 positivo en cualquier escuela de LHCSD, el personal designado llevará a cabo el Rastreo junto con la Agencia de Salud del Condado de Orange (OCHA). Los estudiantes o el personal que tengan un diagnóstico positivo de COVID-19 serán aislados y cualquier estudiante o personal que esté cerca de un caso positivo de COVID será puesto en cuarentena. Por favor, informe inmediatamente de todos los casos sospechosos o confirmados de COVID-19.
Usted recibirá más información inmediatamente después del comienzo del año escolar con respecto a la Noche de Regreso a la Escuela, las juntas de Padres y otros eventos escolares.
