La Habra City School District has been honored with the national 2024 Best Communities for Music Education Award. This prestigious distinction recognizes school districts that demonstrate an unwavering commitment to providing music access and education to all students. Remarkably, this is the second consecutive year that La Habra has been recognized, standing out among only eight other districts in Orange County and 34 throughout California.
The District's Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program comprises six music teachers who enrich students' lives through instrumental, choral, and general music education, along with three visual art teachers who cultivate creativity and expression.
Recipients of this award are selected based on stringent criteria, including music education funding, music class enrollment numbers, instructional time, facilities, and overall support for music programs across the district.
La Habra City School District remains committed to expanding the visual and performing arts throughout the District, striving to make music and the visual arts accessible and equitable for all its students. This ongoing dedication not only enhances educational outcomes but also enriches the community's cultural landscape.
