Statement Regarding Former Board Member Cynthia Aguirre

The La Habra City School District is aware that former school board member Cynthia Aguirre, who resigned from her position effective April 25, 2023, pled guilty to felony charges brought by the District Attorney’s Office.  

During a standard review of expenditure reimbursement requests submitted by the former Board Member, the District identified discrepancies and took immediate action by notifying the appropriate authorities. The District fully cooperated with law enforcement throughout their investigation.

We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring that our resources are invested efficiently and effectively to support high-quality learning. By law and by practice, the District adheres to strict auditing procedures to ensure all expenditures are transparent, properly accounted for, and aligned with the best interests of our District.
