The La Habra City School District (LHCSD) is proud to honor Christine Cosand as the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year. This recognition celebrates her extraordinary dedication, innovative teaching practices, and commitment to Imperial Middle School.
Mrs. Cosand, a 6th-grade Science and Language Arts teacher, has been a vital part of the LHCSD community since 1998. Her connection to Imperial Middle School runs deep, as she is also a proud former Knight who played in the IMS band. Over her 27-year teaching career, Ms. Cosand has become known for her creativity, leadership, and passion for making learning engaging and meaningful for her students.
“Ms. Cosand is an anchor for our school and a foundation of support for both students and staff,” said colleague Kimberly Johnson. “She continually finds innovative ways to connect with her students, inspire her colleagues, and elevate our school community.”
Christine’s classroom is a hub of creativity and engagement. She seamlessly integrates technology into her lessons and fosters a student-centered learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and think critically. Her innovative projects, such as creating sustainable designs using the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, teach real-world problem-solving skills while igniting a love for learning.
Beyond her classroom contributions, Ms. Cosand is a leader among her peers. She develops practical teaching tools, leads professional development sessions, and helps her colleagues better utilize technology and teaching strategies to support student success.
The La Habra City School District celebrates Christine Cosand for her remarkable impact on the students, staff, and families of Imperial Middle School. Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Cosand, our 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year!
