Halloween Dress up Guidelines

Parents and Students:  As you plan your costume, please keep these guidelines in mind:

1.            The costume should be appropriate for school and reflect school guidelines.

2.            The costume should be tasteful and not offensive.

3.            The costume should not hamper the student’s responsibility of carrying school supplies or being seated in class.   Costumes that require carrying extra and/or unsafe items such as: skateboards, surfboards, swords, guns, spears are not acceptable. No Blood, Gore, or Guts

4.            No baby bottles or pajamas.   No pacifiers, false teeth, or anything placed in mouth.

5.            Costumes should not reflect graphic violence or gang affiliation.  Students should keep in mind that the staff will be evaluating the day’s activities.  We are looking for a safe and successful day.

6.            Costumes should not restrict students from dressing out for P.E.

7.            No face or pullover masks.  Also, no excessive facial makeup. No Clown costumes. Makeup should not be brought to school, including i.e., tubes of cream, hair color spray, blood, etc.

8.            Footwear must be safe and supportive.  No sandals, Birkenstocks, etc.

9.            No silly string or toy-like accessories.

10.          School Officials reserve the right to deem a costume inappropriate and ask the student to change.

The success of this day, as always, will impact consideration of future Halloween dress up.  Students who did earn earn Halloween dress up through PBIS will be informed in homerooms.
